I don’t know about you, but sometimes things don’t hit me all at once..they happen and it’s only a few moments, days or weeks later when I realize the full impact…That’s what 30 Days To One Year did to me…kicked me hard the week after..not exactly during…and what I know in this process called grief is “THAT’S OK”.
The boys and I enjoyed a great visit with Aunt Cheryl, dining at John’s favorite place on the water, spending time with friends on Lake Minnetonka and doing what we do…school, work, practices, try-outs, all the “normal” things that John Jr. would want . The week was gorgeous with mild temperatures and beautiful vistas of fall colors.
A year ago at this time, we were planning the celebration, which was held on October 7. We have one more “first” to fathom, and then it’s 50 to 2… chronicling the weeks till we hit the two year mark.
How life changes, yet stays the same – boys, hormones, dating? For John III or me? Who knows?
Family, friends and the faith development that is the foundation of our lives. I look forward to sharing the journey with you.
