We can surround ourselves with like minded people. Having others who share our faith allows it to live dynamically on a regular basis. This doesn’t mean associating only with believers. It does mean that we look on others as Jesus would and offer assistance, prayer and a kind word as we can. Remember, Jesus walked with those with whom others would not associate. He loved those who were considered, unlovable. He embraced the sinners and cautioned against our judging of them.
Listening to music with uplifting messages allows us to be encouraged. It soothes our soul and supports our faith. I particularly enjoy christian contemporary music and find that no matter what mood I may be in… it always helps.
Reading the word gives us insight so we understand what kind of life God wants for us. The bible is our instruction manual for life. It supports us in decisions and directions and reminds us that Jesus struggled and overcame this world, for us… We learn more about our God, and ourselves, as we spend time reading, sharing and discussing His Word.
Sharing with others is key. When we share our words they become a driving force in our lives, while affecting those to whom we are speaking. Sometimes in today’s world, it’s challenging to make my words positive, encouraging and uplifting, but I strive to do so. My hope is that my mouth reflects my heart and by my words and actions people will see God at work in and through me.
Offering a helping hand. We have so much to give and the more we offer up, the more we receive. People are drawn to our generosity of spirit, messages of hope and words of faith. Frequently, when people are searching for answers, they have challenges in their lives, and these times can be an open invitation for us to be “the feet and hands of God.”
Living in faith expands and enhances our lives to such a degree that while negative circumstances and situations occur, we live with a feeling of strength, calm and serenity that allows us to live richer, more complete lives.
Faith doesn’t mean that you are always going to have a perfect life, that you will not have challenges or that you will always be happy. Faith means that you handle it gracefully, with hope and compassion in God, yourself and others.
Life provides us with no guarantees. The only thing that we can truly hold onto is our love of Jesus, our faith and the power of our beliefs. I encourage you to live in harmony with His love and truly experience your days, rather than passing through them blind to all you could have.
Unless faith is tested, we will never know the true power of it’s depth within us. If we don’t know that depth, how could we possibly go deeper?
Jesus’ love keeps us safe, secure and hopeful. And no matter, what our tests, trials and tribulations, know that Jesus loves each and every one of us. We are his children.
Remember… faith is a choice we make for ourselves and I encourage you to choose wisely today.
